Why I Am A Coach

Why I Am A Coach.

In 2006 I had a management role in a large organization. I was considered successful and good at what I did. But secretly, I hated my job.

What started as my dream role had become a prison. I was stressed, unhappy, and my self-confidence was draining away. I knew what I didn’t want, but I was unable to create a better future in my mind and doubted I could change anything. I felt ashamed that I couldn’t escape and although people perceived me as confident, on the inside things were very different.

Then I hired Jane, a coach. In less than 6-months, I had a new job and started to believe in myself again.

I felt like I had a new life, a new future and my biggest breakthrough was letting go of that constant, low-level fear. The impact of my work with Jane was incredible. I knew with total clarity that gift she had given me, was one that I wanted to give to others.

That was 14 years ago, and I have been coaching people to live their purpose ever since. My life is entirely unrecognizable from what it was, and I have a new way of seeing the world. I still have lots of challenges, but I love my ability to dream big and be the creator of my own life.

I love that I get to help others to follow their joy and recreate their lives on their terms.

I have learnt to recognise opportunities to step beyond my comfort zone in the pursuit of things that bring me true fulfilment – it was a small tweak that has ended up making a significant difference. We now speak on a regular basis and Simon has become the voice which says “you can do this”.
